Sunday, 5 PM.  Jim Burr on piano is a sought-out, veteran jazz player with both an extensive repertoire and a long and vibrant history of jazz performance.  Kathy Sommer plays the violin/fiddle, and she is known for her svelte yet dynamic style, versatility of genre, and for playing from the heart.   A classically trained violinist, she is adept in numerous musical styles and both attends and teaches at music camps. This is a well-seasoned duo.  With a natural blend of instruments, the sophistication of Burr's solos and the flair of Sommer's fiddling, they produce a refreshingly contemporary sound that is immediately engaging, classy and exciting!          

Tickets: $10 at the door.  Children 12 and younger, free.

Friday, 7 - 8:30 PM.  Distinctive songwriters who dig deep among the roots of American music, The Buskers radiate warmth, wit, and spontaneous musical combustibility at their shows, with inventive arrangements and effortless musicianship on a kitchen sinkful of instruments. Their music showcases their songwriting gifts, genres from jug band to jazz to roots rock, and Kathy KZ Sommer’s genre-defying, transcendent violin and mandolin.

MEDIEVAL and RENAISSANCE MUSIC with ALEX RAYKOV and ALEXANDER KOROLOV

Thursday, 7 PM  Genuine virtuosos, Raykov and Korolov's music--played on period instruments with homemade silk strings--transports listeners to a time centuries past when music heard directly without amplification or digital enhancement was the norm of the day.

Friday, 7 PM.  Renowned in the harp world for her sublime melodic lines, her beautiful arrangements, her advancement of the Celtic repertoire, Janet will be joined in concert by members of the Brandywine Harp Orchestra.  

"Janet Witman covers the spectrum of the harp world. She is a classically-trained pedal harpist from the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She is the esteemed leader of The Brandywine Harp Orchestra in southeastern Pennsylvania. Her arrangements of both solo and ensemble music are used around the world."  —Ray Pool

CANTIGA!

Thursday, 7 PM.  Cantiga's unique and magical music has delighted visitors to Renaissance Festivals across North America for almost thirty years.  The word CANTIGA means 'song' in the language of Alfonso the Wise, the 13th century Spanish "King of the Three Religions" whose royal court was a haven for Christian, Muslim, and Jewish musicians. Following in their tradition, the members of Cantiga are dedicated to the inclusive spirit of musical improvisation which has flourished among musicians in cultural crossroads throughout history and continues to be celebrated in today's diverse Global Village.

Sunday, 7 PM  Best known as the host of North Country Public Radio's music show, String Fever, Barb Heller is an accomplished singer, songwriter and leader of song. Join Barb in a celebration of shared music for a summer evening -- folk songs, camp songs, original songs....   Grab your guitar, ukulele, kazoo, drums (or whatever!)--or just come along to sing or listen. ALL LEVELS WELCOME!!!

Cost: Bring an item for the Hammond Area Food Pantry, or a cash donation in any amount.
